I cannot believe we are in the last month of the year. It has been quite an eventful year for our family, and I couldn't be more grateful for how we're finishing out the year.
A large part of my thanks goes to all of you (family and friends in real life and friends from the internet) who have been so supportive, loving, and encouraging during the most challenging parts of this year. I really can't thank you enough.Glass Bottle, Glass Bottle
I do love you so.
I clean you. I dry you,
and then watch you glow.
No kidding! No joking!
You really do gleam.
Your non-porous material
assures me you're clean.
One big benefit?
You heat the milk quicker.
I'm your new biggest fan,
even though some may snicker.
So Glass Bottle, Glass Bottle,
you can rest assured.
Your presence in our house
is forever preferred.you hear a beautiful classical song on the public radio station, and you think, "Now where have I heard that song before?" You know that you didn't play it during your piano lesson days, but it still seems so familiar.
And then you realize that the song you're hearing was the special music on The Little Einsteins that day. :)Ruby got a toy from a certain fast food restaurant in her very pleasant meal. It's a plastic hippo from the movie, "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa." When you hit it on a surface, it talks. Well, this little hippo has been riding in our car, and everytime we got over a bump, we would hear, "Rawr...I know I'm..." and it sounded like "eliobostream."
I could not for the life of me figure out what "I know I'm eliobostream" could mean. At. All. It's been driving me nuts.Dearest Friends and Family,
This is our first peanut-free Christmas. This means we will be going without no-bake cookies, peanut butter blossoms, peanut butter balls, peanut butter cookies, or those rice krispie treat thingies that are covered with chocolate/peanut butter icing...
*Sigh* Our Christmas treat repertoire is in for an over-haul. (Because, quite literally, the only other things that I make for Christmas other than that list are choc. chip cookies, Aunt Patty's Sugar Cookies, and regular rice krispie treats....oh, and apple pie.)Okay, I'm bored tonight. What can I say? The house is clean. The cookies are baked. Our original plans fell through. That leaves me with a lot of time to blog random crap. :)
So, I just said to Mike, "I think we should redesign our website." And by we, I mean he. :) I can come up with ideas and suggestions, but he's got all the magic. :)
So, here's where you come in:My sweetest Lydia,
Happy Birthday! I cannot believe it has been an entire year since I held you in my arms. I still remember your beautiful tiny body. The first time I held Burke, do you know what I thought? I thought, "Oh my goodness! He's so much bigger than Lydia!" It's true. Even as I held my own precious little baby, your memory was right there with me.
I've told you all that Ruby is going through a bit of a rough stage regarding her bodily eliminations, correct? Well, just a refresher: Ruby is scared to poop on the potty, but she also hates the feeling of the poop in her nappy, so she refuses to do either. Obviously, this ends in a very backed up and uncomfortable Ruby.
:) Made ya look! *wink wink*
I'm talking about Burke's bouncy seat. It's a hand-me-down from Ruby, so the battery had died. This morning, I finally remembered to put a new battery in the seat, and VOILA! Sleeping baby!! :) I'm so thankful, because the basement is a MESS, and I really need Burke to nap this afternoon while Ruby is napping, so I can get it in shape.
In other news, our Christmas Tree is up, and it's perfect! (for me!) I'll be posting pictures of the process later today. :) Ruby thinks it's pretty cool.Hey everyone!
We stayed at our friends' house far too late last night, so we were all *beat* when we walked in the door. We got everyone settled into bed (with Burke and Mommy upstairs, since the basement was too cold!). The night wasn't too terrible on Burke's end. He slept well in between his feedings, and I was able to get three stretches of sleep for about an hour and forty-five minutes! Awesome!
