Hey everyone!
The kids and I are in Terre Haute for a quick visit with my parents. They were missing Roo, and I needed a break to re-charge. My very messy house is waiting for me when I get home, but that's okay. It was nice to have a couple of days "off."
There's not a whole lot going on in our lives right now, and I am *thankful* for that! :) We welcome normalcy around here. Burke has started to smile a TON and coo a bit. We are loving it!
Tomorrow, Ruby will turn TWO! I cannot believe it's been an entire two years since the day she was born.
Hi Ruby,
It's Mommy here. I've been thinking all day about what I wanted to write to you, and I'm still left at a loss for words. It seems like just a couple of weeks ago, I was holding a precious 5 lb. baby.

And it seems like only yesterday that I sat in the living room, snapping cute pictures of my smiley one year old.

I'm going to say that Lexi Lawson may be going extremely far in the contest. She's got the look, and she's got the voice. If the name sounds familiar, you might know her from RENT. We'll see...
Randomness, that is.
Dishes -
Every single dish in my home is clean...except the cup that Mike is drinking from this moment. I'm proud.
Laundry -
The laundry, however, is not finished...not even close. I'm getting ready to go down and work on it. I'm not proud.
New House -
I'm starting to get bad at this blogging deal! I can't believe I haven't blogged since Thursday. Well, actually, I sort of can believe it. I've been an industrious young lady.
Friday, I was determined to have the house in decent shape before we left town, so I put the laptop downstairs in the basement! :) It worked. I got all but one load of laundry done (minus the folding.) Plus, I got all the dishes washed and put away, and I got us all packed to go to Terre Haute.
I've got sick kids today. It's nothing too bad, they've just got a cold of some sort. Because of their preemie-status and their lung history, colds always go straight to their lungs, and you can hear all the junk rumbling around in their chest. We've already completed four breathing treatments today, which is quite fun between the squirmy, screamy baby and the kicking, crying toddler. Still...it's better than a hospital visit...so I will prevail! :)
Hey there, it's just me checkin' in. Both of the kiddos are asleep, and since they are both sick, that is quite a feat to behold! I should totally be upstairs doing the dishes (since they are overtaking my kitchen!) or getting my shower and putting on some clothes (that are acceptable for tonight's Bible study.)
And by B-Man, I don't mean Batman. I mean the Burke-Man!! I was washing dishes while he had some tummytime today, and all of a sudden I could smell poop. Lots and Lots of poop... Fear and panic took their places in my heart, and I walked into the living room to investigate. Thankfully, I found a happy baby with NO poop leaking through his clothes.
Yesterday, I had a really good day with Ruby. I'm not talking about behavior or anything, we just laughed A LOT and it was so fun. :)
I just wanted to say what a great job Mike did this weekend! I know a lot of people think it's silly to make a big deal out of Valentine's Day, and the truth is that we normally don't. Aside from our first V-Day, the biggest Valentine's gift I've ever gotten was two roses. Mike told me, long ago, that romance was not a strong suit for him. I'm honestly okay with that. This year, however, I was really wishing for some time alone with him.
