Blog Archive - 2009 May
I got behind on our photo galleries, and I apologize to those of you who have been hounding me. (Ahem.) They are now fully up to date (with the exception of two pictures taken yesterday.) If you want to see all of them, you can head over to our Photos Page and check out the new albums in the March and April folders. Otherwise, here are some of my favorites!
A few of the pictures we've snapped recently have reminded us quite a bit of another little baby of whom we used to take many a picture...

Let's start off with a fun poll. Do you blog?
For all you bloggers, how about another poll. Why do you blog? (If you're up to it, leave me a comment and tell me more about why you blog. Include a link, so I can come visit you!)
But first, let's talk Idol. I think it's totally unfair to do a rock theme this far into the competition. Rock is such a specific genre, and it's a genre that you can't fake. Country? Totally easy to fake. Pop? Hello, it's as generic as chicken anyway, so it's an effortless fake-out. But rock? Only real rockers can do rock convincingly. Two of the three strongest left on AI are NOT rockers, so this week was really unfair to them. I love Kris. Vote for Kris. Thank you.
I like to talk. I like to write. I'm not too bad at either of those things.
My little girl is sharp. She's at that age where they hear everything and they notice everything and they want everything explained to them. This stage is hallmarked by one word, "Why?"
We've been asked that question numerous times over the past three weeks. Also, over the past three weeks, my mom has been a little emotional. Near death experiences tend to do that. They make you put everything in focus, in perspective. For my mom, that perspective has come with some intense gratitude.
I love "Lie to Me." It's a good show, and I'm a sucker for an accent. :) On a much-related note, I love Hulu. "Lie to Me" airs while I'm at church, so Hulu is the way I get my fix. :) And I happen to be watching the show while I compose this post.
Have you ever been so tired that you can't sleep? Yeah, me neither. But it happens to my kids every once in a while. For instance, Burke is upstairs, crying himself to sleep at this moment. I got him to sleep in my arms, but when I transferred him, he woke up. He is so, so, so tired. You can see it in his little eyes. But he's not giving it up. I feel so bad. His cry is even tired. It's heart-wrenching.
You guys should see my house. Seriously, if there was ever a time when I was going to invite every single one of you over to my house (even Darla!), I would invite you first thing tomorrow morning. I would wake up early, shower and do my hair, put on matching clothes (no yoga pants!), PLUS I would get the kids up, bathe them, and dress them in their cutest spring outfits. (I would even put pig tails WITH BOWS in Roo's hair!) I would cook a breakfast casserole, and I would squeeze fresh orange juice.
First off, look at these pictures Kyle took with his iPhone:

Isn't he a sweetie? :) That little smile gets me every time, and I feel so blessed to have him. :)
