    A Week's Worth

    Of Lessons!

On Monday, I learned that Clarian Arnett Hospital has a very awkward new ER doctor with pretty bad bedside manners.  I learned this lesson by taking my son to the ER after he spit up blood a few times in a row over a three hour period.  It turns out that he is basically fine, but he is most likely a bit lactose intolerant.  Goodbye peanuts AND dairy...  Grrr...

    I'm a Mac

I haven't posted in quite awhile. Part of the reason for the lag in my already sluggish posting was the fact that my new Dell laptop died on me.

    Easter video

So I made my first video on the new Mac. It's just a mashup of our videos from Easter. Ruby had a rather involved Easter egg hunt as you will see.

    And we're off!

So, I know it's not Sunday, but I've been having no problems being responsible with my time.  I am totally impressed at how not addicted I turned out to be.  However, I really needed to share this information with you guys, because you have a lot to do with it:

    Caleb Michael Goodwin

At approximately 4:27 PM on June 12, 2009 Marc and Stephanie Goodwin welcomed their son Caleb Michael Goodwin into the world.  He weighed 7 pounds 3 ounces and was 20.5 inches long.  Marc and Stephanie seemed very excited to be parents, and it was really cool to be there to see them afterwards.  Lindsay says that she will have a long post about this coming up, but for now my concise summary will have to do.

    Can you pray for Caleb?

    and his daddy and mommy?

Today, Caleb was diagnosed with Group B Strep that has entered his blood stream.  (Sepsis)  Instead of being discharged today, as they had planned, Marc and Stephanie learned that the hospital will be a part of their lives for the next 10 to 14 days.  Caleb has to stay in the Special Care Nursery (a level II NICU) while he receives antibiotics to treat the infection.

    Hey everyone!

    26 years ago today...

...two little boys were born into this world.  Their mommy had carried them together in her stomach for nine full months.  They put her through torture and discomfort unknown to mothers who have only carried one baby to full-term.  They were twins, and they were 7.5 lbs a piece.  :)  Their names were Marc and Mike, and God had great plans for them.

    One Year Ago Today

At right about this time, I was driving down Columbia Street towards Purdue University.  My heart was beating hard against my chest, and my 15-month-old baby girl was strapped into her carseat behind me.  One prayer was playing in my head, as if the repeat button had been pushed, "God, please don't take my baby today.  Just not today.  Please give me one more day with him or her.  Help me find Mike quickly and show me what to do next.  Just please, please don't take my baby today.  I just want a few more hours with him or her."
