We went to the Indiana Family Institute Annual Banquet last night, where Coach Dungy and his wife, Lauren, were awarded the “Friend of the Family” award. ( : Our friend, Kirsten, works with IFI, and she actually got us complimentary tickets for the banquet! Thanks, Kirsten! We took the opportunity to say, “Hi!” to Coach Dungy and tell him about Ruby’s view of Superbowl Sunday. He actually started crying and seemed really moved for some reason. He and Lauren agreed to take a picture with Ruby, and Lauren seemed very excited to hold her. ( : Here is Ruby with the Dungys:

Hunter Smith was also at the banquet to introduce Coach Dungy, and he agreed to take a snapshot with Ruby, as well. He was surprised that she was the size of the football! LOL ( : Here is Ruby with Hunter Smith:

And, just because she was so cute, we included a picture of Ruby in her little dress:

(Excuse her very angry face. She was extremely hungry when we got home, but I wanted to change her into her jammies before I fed her. BUT I wanted to get a pic of her dress before I changed her into her jammies. She was not really happy to wait. Hee hee hee!)

Go Colts!!!

The Colts had such a good season, only to be followed up with a sucky ending. They were totally thrown out of sync all game on both sides of the ball. You have to give credit to the Steelers…Their blitzing schemes and running game were excellent today.
The thing that made it the worst was that the Colts were given two highly improbable and undeserved breaks at the end of the game, and STILL didn’t win!
Oh well…life goes on ( :
There’s much more to life than football or Super Bowls…like living our lives in a manner that glorifies our Creator and Savior! May we never get more excited or emotional about 11 guys throwing around a pigskin than we do about our God and what he’s done for us.
Later kiddos.

We’re heading out for Christmas once Lindsay gets back from work. We'll be spending the afternoon and evening with my family. It won’t be long, but it should be fun.
After that, we'll drive late tonight to Terre Haute to be with Lindsay’s family on Sunday. Then we’re headed back to Lafayette on Monday. All in all, it should be a fun time. I’m sure we’ll have pictures and updates once we get back.
The Colts have a game today against the Seahawks. Of course, the games are irrelevant for multiple reasons right now (namely the loss of coach Dungy’s son), but hopefully we’ll get to see some of the game. It may very well be a Super Bowl preview!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
We cannot being to express our sorrow and grief for the Dungy family.
This season has been so fun to watch. For such an amazing season to be paired with such a disturbing and sorrowful event is surreal. I know that the Dungy’s are strong in their faith, and I’m so thankful they have that support. Our prayers will surely be with them.
It also makes us thankful for our family and friends. We love you so much. Please join us in prayer for the Dungy family.
We had an awesome time watching the Colts beat the Ravens last night. Lindsay made tacos and her famous seven layer nacho dip…it tasted so good! None of our friends were able to make it over to watch with us, but we still had fun.
The team looked really good last night. The offense and defense both got off to slow starts, but things turned around quick. Of course, we benefited greatly from three missed field goals, a dropped interception, and several untimely penalties. It was still a good start to a season in which many people are picking them to go all the way!
On another note…please pray for my exam tomorrow night. I don't know what to expect, but the past averages for the course have been about 65%. Yikes!
We made a quick trip to Terre Haute this weekend to get Peyton a new cage so that he can’t keep doing his Houdini impersonation. Winnie took Peyon’s little cage, and we took her mammoth cage for Peyton. It has a nice heavy metal bottom so Peyton won’t be able to flip it over, or he’ll at least hurt himself really bad in trying ( : Here’s what it looks like:

We also picked up the autographed Peyton Manning picture. We were very impressed with how it turned out:

Hopefully we’ll get to make a trip down to Indianapolis to see Mike’s family soon. We miss them.

We went to Colts training camp this morning. We got there at 7:40 in the morning, and practice didn’t even start until 8:30. I (Mike) sat in the autograph line for three hours while Lindsay and her father went to watch the practice. Patience paid off though! Four Colts came to the autograph tent after practice, two of which were Brandon Stokely and Peyton Manning. While I was waiting, Lindsay’s mother had printed off a large (poster size) picture of Peyton’s record-breaking #49 touchdown pass from last season that I had taken. So, I got Manning and Stokely to sign the big picture; only Stokely could sign the smaller one that we had already printed off. Apparently Manning has to stick to signing one picture per fan, which is perfectly understandalbe. Peyton signed first, and as I was moving down the line of the four Colts players, Jeff Saturday was joking with another lineman about how he had fallen down during the play. It was pretty funny. But they all loved the picture. In fact, Peyton asked if I could send a copy of the picture for them to have! How cool is that!? So, they had one of the staff who was there write down an address for me to send it too. Lindsay’s mother took me to a place that frames pictures, and they should have the big picture framed within a week. She also had another poster-size picture printed off for me to send to the Colts. Maybe they’ll give me an autograph or two in return, but if not, it’s still really cool that they liked my picture so much that they wanted a copy. I’ve only posted a small version of the original picture for now; I don’t have any other pictures to post right now because digital cameras weren’t allowed. I did get one of Peyton signing the picture, but it was with a disposable camera that I will have to get developed then scanned. Just thought I’d vent my excitement! Thank you to Lindsay’s parents for helping out with printing, framing, etc. and thank you to everyone for the prayers that I would get the autographs. It seems trivial, but I think God still listens to our smallest concerns!
We visited Elston Heights Baptist Church on Sunday morning and this evening. They are doing some restructuring, and they’re gearing up for a small group program. Tonight, Randy continued with his study on leadership. It was really good, and there was a lot of meat to chew on. We’ve really enjoyed it so far. Yay for God and his people! We’re thinking about heading towards Terre Haute this weekend. Mike wants to get Peyton Manning’s autograph on his picture of the record-breaking pass! That’s about it for now! We love you all!
