We had the opportunity to meet Kyle’s girlfriend, Kim, this weekend. Kyle went and picked her up from Ball State on Friday, and we watched the movie “Robots” on Friday night. The movie wasn’t too good, but Lindsay made some good pizza for us!
On Saturday, Lindsay cooked pancakes and eggs for all of us, and then Lindsay and I went to Target and bought some new jeans…a long overdue purchase. After that, we went to the Regions tent over on the football practice field before the Purdue-Iowa game. O’Charley’s catered the food so it was good eats! On the way to the stadium, a guy from State Farm took our picture for some promotional gig:

The game itself was pretty stupid, so we left at halftime. Dinner at the dining hall was actually pretty good.
When we got back home, we watched the movie “Crash.” I liked it even better the second time. Today was pretty cool too. Kim got to experience an Elston Heights service ( : The worship music went really well. I enjoy being able to lead so that pastor Randy is free to speak, and move around without feeling constrained to the keyboard. After church, Lindsay made some good chicken and noodles, and Kyle and Kim took off for Greenfield (her hometown).
We spent the afternoon watching the Colts, of course! ( : 5-0!
That’s all for now. We leave for Brown County tomorrow. We’ll be there until Wednesday afternoon. Should be fun!
We had an awesome time watching the Colts beat the Ravens last night. Lindsay made tacos and her famous seven layer nacho dip…it tasted so good! None of our friends were able to make it over to watch with us, but we still had fun.
The team looked really good last night. The offense and defense both got off to slow starts, but things turned around quick. Of course, we benefited greatly from three missed field goals, a dropped interception, and several untimely penalties. It was still a good start to a season in which many people are picking them to go all the way!
On another note…please pray for my exam tomorrow night. I don't know what to expect, but the past averages for the course have been about 65%. Yikes!

We went to Colts training camp this morning. We got there at 7:40 in the morning, and practice didn’t even start until 8:30. I (Mike) sat in the autograph line for three hours while Lindsay and her father went to watch the practice. Patience paid off though! Four Colts came to the autograph tent after practice, two of which were Brandon Stokely and Peyton Manning. While I was waiting, Lindsay’s mother had printed off a large (poster size) picture of Peyton’s record-breaking #49 touchdown pass from last season that I had taken. So, I got Manning and Stokely to sign the big picture; only Stokely could sign the smaller one that we had already printed off. Apparently Manning has to stick to signing one picture per fan, which is perfectly understandalbe. Peyton signed first, and as I was moving down the line of the four Colts players, Jeff Saturday was joking with another lineman about how he had fallen down during the play. It was pretty funny. But they all loved the picture. In fact, Peyton asked if I could send a copy of the picture for them to have! How cool is that!? So, they had one of the staff who was there write down an address for me to send it too. Lindsay’s mother took me to a place that frames pictures, and they should have the big picture framed within a week. She also had another poster-size picture printed off for me to send to the Colts. Maybe they’ll give me an autograph or two in return, but if not, it’s still really cool that they liked my picture so much that they wanted a copy. I’ve only posted a small version of the original picture for now; I don’t have any other pictures to post right now because digital cameras weren’t allowed. I did get one of Peyton signing the picture, but it was with a disposable camera that I will have to get developed then scanned. Just thought I’d vent my excitement! Thank you to Lindsay’s parents for helping out with printing, framing, etc. and thank you to everyone for the prayers that I would get the autographs. It seems trivial, but I think God still listens to our smallest concerns!
