Glass Bottle, Glass Bottle
I do love you so.
I clean you. I dry you,
and then watch you glow.
No kidding! No joking!
You really do gleam.
Your non-porous material
assures me you're clean.
One big benefit?
You heat the milk quicker.
I'm your new biggest fan,
even though some may snicker.
So Glass Bottle, Glass Bottle,
you can rest assured.
Your presence in our house
is forever preferred.
Now, friends, I'm sure you're laughing and thinking that I have definitely lost it. But I must tell you that I have had a rough day. Burke just finally went to sleep at 3:15 p.m., after being awake since 8:00 this morning. And Ruby? She woke at 7:45 in full form, stubborn and cranky as ever. I had a to-do list as long as my leg this morning, and I've only accomplished a wrist's worth. Oh, and that leg? It ends in a twisted ankle. I'm not sure what I did or when I did it, but I'm hobbling today. And I've got two clogged milk ducts...it was just one, but I've got a new one today. I'm not sure what's wrong, so I've put in a call to my OB. Seeing as how it's 4:15 p.m., however, I'm not holding out hope for a return call.
Why did I tell you all of that? So that you would understand the significance of this:
I just finished a load of dishes. When I got done, I looked at the drying rack, and four gleaming glass bottles were hanging there, so perfect. They made me smile, and the little poem above popped immediately into my head. That's big. :) I don't do rhymes, or poems, or anything like that. I really stink at it. So, it means a lot that four insignificant glass bottles inspired a smile after a pretty discouraging day AND an immediate poem. :)
Now, I'm in a pretty spiffy mood. Ready to tackle more of my list and maybe even make some homemade sugar cookies for us to munch on while we decorate the tree tonight.
See? Those bottles are amazing! (It helps that I have two simultaneously sleeping children.) :)
