Well, we were all set to head down towards Indianapolis this weekend to visit with Pop and Gigi. Unfortunately, our health had different plans for us. Ruby has been sickly all week. I actually didn't even go to work on Monday, because she was puking everywhere. Yesterday, she was back to puking, and I was starting to feel really bad. By 3:00, I knew something was wrong. I was chilling really badly, and I couldn't stop shaking. When I took my temperature, it was 100.1, and I was feeling very nauseated. When I got sick, I knew I would need to leave as soon as Paul got back, so I got Ruby ready to go, and I sort of ran out on him when he got home. I felt terrible. I really wanna finish out strong for them, but I was feeling so bad.
Once I got home, my fever had reached 101.5, and by the time I called the doctor, I was up to 102.5. We headed off to Urgent Care, where I was diagnosed with a kidney infection. I kept praying, "God please don't make me go to the hospital. Please. I can't take that."
When the doctor was checking me, she said, "Now, if you're not able to keep your meds down, we'll have to admit you for IV antibiotics."
I. lost. it. I started bawling, and she was so shocked. I felt so silly. I just told her it's been a rough year, medically, and I couldn't handle another hospitalization. She was totally understanding, and she prescribed an anti-nausea medicine for me, as well.
Anyway, last night, Ruby got really bad. She got sick in her sleep, and then we couldn't get her calmed down until two hours later. Then, she woke up this morning, and was clinging to us. She has just laid on us all day. She was slightly dehydrated a little bit ealier, but, thankfully, she started keeping down some applesauce and home-made pedialyte. This is what Ruby looked like the whole day:
She's in bed now. Hopefully, she'll have a good night of sleep, so Mommy and Daddy can have a good night of sleep. We're going to try to get to church tomorrow, so pray for good rest.
We would appreciate your prayers for healing and health. Also, it sounds like Paul and Lynne had a successful day of interviewing. Keep praying that God gives them the perfect person to care for their girls.
