Curious Today

lindsay's picture

Today, I'm curious.  :)  I'm curious what the next face on our banner is going to look like.  :)  For some reason, the curiosity is really high today.  I remember this feeling with Ruby.  We didn't know if she was a boy or a girl, but I didn't even care.  I was far more curious about her looks.  Would she be a pudgy baby?  (No, but she did have honkin' cheeks.)  Would she smile a lot? (Uh..."yes" would be an understatement.)  Would she have hair? (Oh yes!  Tons!)  Would she have long fingers and tiny toes? (Short fingers and long toes, but oh! those baby feet!)  I just couldn't wait to see her and hold her and find out who she was, which, at that time, consisted much more of her physical make-up than her emotional/mental make-up.

Now, more than a year and a half later,  I know everything about her.  There are still parts of her that are a mystery to me, but that's simply because she's only eighteen months into her life.

There is a new mystery in town.  :)  It's odd, because I know he's a boy, and I even know his name.  There's a part of me that wishes I still didn't know.  It just adds a whole different element to the experience.  However, it's been a huge blessing to be able to pray for him by name and to ask other people to pray for him by name.  The other mysteries are still here, though:  Will he be a pudgy baby?  Will he smile a lot?  Will he have long fingers and tiny toes?  Is he going to look like his sister?  Or will he look more like his daddy?  Will he have hair or will he be a bald baby?  What will he look like???  I just can't wait to hold him in my arms.

So, today I'm curious...  :)

Oh, and also:

We need to buy a second car sometime in the near-ish future.  We're not really interested in a brand new car, we're more interested in a newer used car.  If any of you drive cars from the 2005-2007 model years, would you mind giving us a recommendation?  I think we're going to look for a midsize sedan.  We'll accept recommendations of all sorts, though!  :)  Thanks!

MINI COOPERS ARE

MINI COOPERS ARE AMAZING.....for dwarfs...

lol...

I'd like to see us try to fit two carseats and our selves into a mini.  Of course, if my brother can fit himself into a Mini, it might be closer to possible that I was originally thinking...

I know what you mean...

...about the curiosity. When I see older little girls, walking and talking, I wonder what Chloe will be like. I wonder what her voice will sound like and what her hair will look like, if she ever gets any... ;)

Today I read Psalm 139. When I read that for the first time after becoming pregnant, it was like really reading it for the first time.

For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

It is so amazing to think that God already knows who and what she'll become. He knows the number of hairs that will be on her head, when she finally sprouts it! I love it!

As I think about your journey in relation to this, I think of God as the person who has already read the book that you/I/we are ENGROSSED in... We read fast and furious, wanting to know how it all works out! We are tempted to ask that person how it ends, but know that the ups and downs and the next 200 pages will be ruined if you allow it to be spoiled...

I'm praying for you today!

We just got a Nissan Quest

We just got a Nissan Quest van and love it. Happy hunting and happy dreaming of your babe! :)

Ford Fusion

As far as recommendations for midsize sedans go...I love, love, love my Ford Fusion. I have the 4 cylinder version but it also comes in a 6 cylinder model. I get about 23-25 miles to the gallon in a combination of city and highway driving. It is perfect for getting me around town! It does not have the best pick up (because of the 4 cylinder) but I knew that would be something to deal with, and in all fairness, I am a little heavy footed!! If you guys ever want to "test drive" my car, I would be more than happy to let you. Just let me have a little notice so I can clean it!! It's amazing what messes a little one can make (not to mention the messes that I make!!) Hope this helps!

My SIL just got a Dodge

My SIL just got a Dodge Charger and she absolutely loves it. They have 2 kids and there is plenty of room for everyone.
I remember the anticipation as well. We knew what we were having each time but I just couldn't wait to look into that new face and see the remenants of all the people in my life who are so dear to me.

as your brother....this is

as your brother....this is my pick...make sure it has a hemi so uncle kyle can take the kids out and use your gas :)

Cars

I can't picture either of you guys in a Dodge Charger (I had to look that one up and then saw one tonight when were out). Maybe it's your style though. I LOVE my Saturn (obviously you would be getting a much newer one). And then of course, Honda Civics and Accords are nice. I also like Pontiac Grand Am, had one in college...and Grand Prix, too.

Camry

Toyota Camry's for a million reasons-a huge one of which is it will never die;-) We drive a 1995!!!! Seriously! Toyota makes GREAT cars. I bet we NEVER own any other manufacturer again. Oh and the resale is very high on them. The safety is hard to beat too! I lov ethe bedding you choose-super cute. ~RV

We have an 06 Toyota Matrix

We have an 06 Toyota Matrix and LOVE it!!! It is very versatile, as the seats fold down and it's a hatchback, so you can haul an amazing amount of stuff in it. It also is roomy enough to easily and comfortably fit 2 carseats. It gets great gas mileage, too, which is a huge plus these days. It was a good compromise between a sedan and a minivan.
