Dearest Friends and Family,
This is our first peanut-free Christmas. This means we will be going without no-bake cookies, peanut butter blossoms, peanut butter balls, peanut butter cookies, or those rice krispie treat thingies that are covered with chocolate/peanut butter icing...
*Sigh* Our Christmas treat repertoire is in for an over-haul. (Because, quite literally, the only other things that I make for Christmas other than that list are choc. chip cookies, Aunt Patty's Sugar Cookies, and regular rice krispie treats....oh, and apple pie.)
So, here's my challenge:
I want to find a recipe for the perfect-to-me drop sugar cookie. My Aunt Patty makes the absolute best rolled sugar cookie, and I'm still trying to reach her level of perfection. However, the chilling and the rolling and the cutting and the icing... It takes time and counter space, two things of which I have very little supply this year. So, I want to find a drop sugar cookie recipe.
My main concern is that I want the cookie to be soft and chewy when it's finished baking. It would be a major plus if the cookie stays soft and chewy for the rest of the week when stored properly in an air-tight container.
So, the race is on! If you supply me with a drop sugar cookie recipe which I deem to be "perfect-to-me", I will share my cookies with you. (If you live near me. If you don't live near me, I will consider shipping you some cookies, if I can find a way to get them to you fresh and unharmed!) :)
Ready, Set, Bake!
