Gender Musings

Please forgive my incessant posts over the next couple of hours. I've got to do something to waste time until Mike gets home. :) I thought I'd put a blog post out there with a lot of the wives' tales about gender, and my results of those wives tales. We'll see if they're right or wrong for this baby. Also, if you want to get your guess in for the gender of this baby before we let the cat out of the bag, you should head over to ExpectNet and enter your guess for this baby. :) You can click on this banner:

So, get your guesses in quickly, before Mike gets home! :)

Until then, here are the wives tales, and what they mean for me:

* I am carrying the baby weight (or lack thereof) straight out front, so that would say it's a boy.
* The rate of growth on my leg hair (gross!) has stayed the same, so that would say it's a girl.
* I am carrying the baby low, so that would say it's a boy.
* I sleep in bed with my pillow to the north. That would say I'm carrying a boy.
* My feet are no colder than they were before pregnancy, so that would mean I'm carrying a girl.
* I don't like to eat the heel of the loaf of bread, so that would mean I'm carrying a girl.
* Mike has not been gaining "sympathy" weight, so that means I'm carrying a girl. (WHERE do they come up with this stuff??)
* The maternal grandmother does not have grey-hair (colored or natural), so I'm carrying a girl.
* I had morning sickness early in pregnancy, so I'm having a girl.
* My complexion has been clear during pregnancy, so I'm having a boy.
* My breasts have stayed generally the same size, so I'm carrying a boy.
* The Chinese Gender Prediction calendar indicates that I will have a girl. (According to some online sources...other online sources say boy. LOL! This one is a wash.)
* The color of my urine indicates a boy. (Although the iron supplements I'm taking could have more to do with that than the sex of the baby. LOL!)
* My cravings have been for salty and spicy foods (aside from sweet tea), which indicates a boy.
* My nose hasn't changed during pregnancy, so that means I'm carrying a girl.
* The baby's heartrate has been consistently faster than 140 beats per minute, so the baby is a girl.
* I am not craving orange juice, so I'm carrying a boy.
* I don't have any headaches, so I'm carrying a girl.
* My belly resembles a basketball more than a watermelon, so it's a boy.
* If you ask me to show you my hands, I will put them out palm up. That means I'm having a girl.
* I pick up a mug by the handle. That means I'm having a boy.

Obviously, these superstitions are rock-solid and fool-proof. LOL!  We'll see in a little bit which of these were right!
