Good Morning!
We're doing well in the Goodwin Household. Tomorrow is our next appointment and ultrasound to check on Baby Goodwin. I'm getting anxious in a good way. We've decided to ask Dr. Harrison to try to determine the gender of our baby. You all know what avid "surprise" people we are. However, in this situation, we aren't sure how much time we will get with Baby Goodwin, so we'd like to know as much as we can about him/her while he/she is still with us.
Mike can't go to the ultrasound with me, so I'm going to ask Dr. Harrison to write the sex down on a piece of paper and seal it in an envelope. I'll look away while she's looking for the sex, and then Mike and I will open the envelope together when he gets home from work. :)
Of course, the biggest hope and prayer for our appointment tomorrow is another good report. If the amniotic fluid is the same or better, it means that bedrest is working, and my body is replacing the amniotic fluid at the same rate (or faster) than I'm leaking it. This is what needs to happen for as long as possible. The amniotic fluid is nothing short of vital to every aspect of Baby Goodwin's development. He/She needs a nice big pocket of water. If the amniotic fluid gets too low, Baby G won't be able to live in the womb anymore.
I'll update you all as soon as we know more about what's going on in there with Baby Goodwin.
Ruby is spending today with a good friend from college. Her name is Annie, and she's really wonderful with Ruby. Yesterday, they did all sorts of things, including taking a walk, playing at the playground, and blowing bubbles. I'm not sure what their plans are for today, but I know they will have fun. :) Thank you, Annie, for helping to give Ruby a small semblence of consistency in the midst of this very inconsistent period in her life.
Thanks for checking in, everyone! Keep those prayers coming!
