Do you see what I see?

Or don't see?

That's right!  This little boy is no longer using the nasal cannula!!  Burke was taken off the cannula/heated air at 2:00 this afternoon.  I wasn't even expecting him to make it a half an hour.  However, we're two hours later, and he's doing great.  He hasn't gone down in his oxygen saturation at all.  In fact, for quite a bit of the time, he's been satting in the 97-100% range!!!

We're continuing to work on how to learn to eat.  It's quite a complicated process, when you think about it.  The baby has to learn how to suck, swallow, and breathe all at the same time.  Burke's doing very well, and I'm pleased with what we've done in the past twenty-four hours.  It's not exactly progress, but it is practice.  And you all know what "they" say: Practice makes perfect.

I can't wait for this perfect little man to come home.  :)  He sure is trying his best.

We love you all!!  Praise God for the room air!

Baby Burke & Family

Lindsay, Mike, Ruby and Burke:

Praise God! Grandpa and I are praising God for little Burke's daily progress!

I can hardly wait to see the updates each new day. God is so good!!!!!!!!

Lindsay, practice does make perfect, and I am sure he will learn all his new skills very quickly.

He has come a long way in a few days with God's help and a lot of prayers in his behalf.

He will be off his oxygen real soon too. And drinking a lot of Momma's good milk!

Please keep the daily comments coming. I am so thankful I have a computer and can see all of you every day.

Grandpa & I are anxious to come up North and hold our brand new great-grandson.

Love you all. Give Ruby a hug and kiss for us. She is a beautiful little girl! I love her personality and smile.

Grandma Goodwin
