Holy Blowout, B-Man!

And by B-Man, I don't mean Batman.  I mean the Burke-Man!!  I was washing dishes while he had some tummytime today, and all of a sudden I could smell poop.  Lots and Lots of poop...  Fear and panic took their places in my heart, and I walked into the living room to investigate.  Thankfully, I found a happy baby with NO poop leaking through his clothes.

I took him straight to the changing table, and that's where it all went down.  After I pulled off his pants, I was still hopeful.  Once I unbuttoned his onesies (that's right, he had on two onesies), I realized that we were in for trouble, though.  He had exploded up his back AND up his tummy...so much so that it was trailing it's way back down towards his legs...on the OUTSIDE of his diaper.

The smell was overwhelming, and the only wipes we have at this time were a gift.  (We're trying to be diligent and not wasteful.  I do not like scented wipes at all, but I also don't want to get rid of expensive wipes.)  So...I pull out the Lavendar scented wipes and begin to try to make sense of the mess.  Let's just say that Lavendar + Poop = Nausea.

It was everywhere by the time I got the onesies off of him.  His back.  His tummy.  His arms.  His Head.  His nose.  (!)  and ALL over our changing table.

Once I got him bathed and asleep, I set myself to the task of damage control.  I seriously considered tossing the changing table pad.  However, in the pursuit of being the perfect wife, I set to work with an old toothbrush, a bucket of bleach water, and some old sponges.  The pad is saved, and so is some of our money!

Next time, however, I'm pretty sure I'll be willing to sacrifice something major (like an automatic ice-maker in our new refrigerator) in order to throw out the desecrated changing table pad and buy a new one.

And the lavendar-scented wipes?  They're outta here.  If any of you out there would like them, please let me know.  I think there are about four hundred of them with a purple pooh and piglet container.

Hope you all have a wonderful (and poop-free) day!
