Ruby Funnies

Yesterday, I had a really good day with Ruby.  I'm not talking about behavior or anything, we just laughed A LOT and it was so fun.  :)

It all started first thing in the morning while I was feeding Burke.  Ruby pointed to him eating and said, "Eating milk?"  I told her that he was, in fact, drinking milk.  So, she poked my breast and said, "Dat one got milk in it."  I stiffled a giggle and told her she was correct.  Then, she reached across my chest, poked my other breast, and said/yelled, "Dat one got APPUH JUICE!!!"  I laughed until tears were streaming down my face.  Then I corrected her and told her that mommy only makes milk.  :)

Not much later, we were eating lunch, and I put in "Cheaper by the Dozen" to watch with her.  I watched "Cheaper by the Dozen" the morning after I found out I was pregnant with her.  I remember every second of that movie so vividly.  Sitting in our basement on the couch, with a life smaller than a pea inside me.  Watching twelve kids run amock in a family full of love.  I was overwhelmed by what was taking place inside of me.  Yesterday, watching Ruby laugh as a frog landed in a bowl of scrambled eggs, I was overwhelmed by what is taking place around me.  Beautiful, healthy children, growing into amazing young people.

After naptime, Ruby was helping me fold laundry, and I put "Juno" in the DVD player.  In the beginning, Juno is walking around with a jug of Sunny D.  Ruby disappeared into the kitchen and came back out carrying an empty half-gallon of milk.  LOL!  I had placed it next to the trashcan to be taken out.  Ruby looked right at me and said, "March like the girl...with juice!"  :)  And she proceeded to march around our room with her jug in her hand.

Today, the laughs are a bit fewer and farther in between.  Ruby's been wheezing pretty badly for the past couple of days, and I've been giving her the breathing treatments, but they weren't helping the way they are supposed to help.  I called Dr. Miller's office yesterday and they had absolutely no openings.  They wanted me to take Ruby to the urgent care center, but I would rather have her seen by her regular doctors.  So...I promised to watch her carefully last night and bring her in this morning.

I'm glad I took her in.  She's got pneumonia.  It's mild and in the early stages.  She's on steroids, antibiotics, and continued breathing treatments.  Dr. Miller thinks she'll be good as new in 3-5 days!  Yay!

We've got a BUSY weekend!  I'm not sure I'll be able to blog much.  However, I wanted to encourage everyone to stop by on Monday.  I've got a HUGE announcement that I can't wait to make!  :)
