Hey everyone!

Meet Zach and Sarah:

Zach and Sarah are Mike and I's best friends.  We met them briefly our freshman year of college, and then reconnected on a deeper level three (almost four) years ago.  They have been by our side through everything we've experienced during that time: Ruby's hardships, the miscarriage, bedrest, and Burke's NICU.  They are honestly two of the best friends I could have ever hoped for.

I'm introducing you to them, because I have some incredible news to share with you!  News that I have known about for almost a year...and I have managed to keep my mouth shut and my hands still.  Obviously, I am bursting at the seams!

Zach and Sarah are going to be parents!!!

That's right, they are joining the wonderful world of parenthood, and they are jumping in with both feet!  Zach and Sarah are in the final processes of adopting one or two children from Rwanda, Africa.  :)  Almost all of the paperwork is completed, and the waiting game is about to begin.  They have been told that, once they receive their referral (a specific child or sibling group that needs to be adopted), it could be as little as four months until their children are here!  :)

I'm coming to you, my friends, because I really want to help Zach and Sarah.  They had discussed early in their marriage the option of adopting children.  However, they thought their adoption journey would begin further down the road.  After two years of trying to have children, they've decided to move ahead with their adoption plans now, though!  International adoption is incredibly expensive.  The total bill will most likely hover around $20,000.

Zach and Sarah are going to be the most amazing parents, and we really want to help them with this burden.  Mike and I wanted to ask you all, our friends, family, and blog readers if you would help, too.  No amount is too small.  Every single cent will help.  In the top right hand part of the page, you'll see a donation box titled, "Skidmore Adoption."  If you would like to help Zach and Sarah start their family, we would all be eternally grateful!  If you can't help that way, please continue to cover Zach, Sarah, and their children in tons of prayer as they continue down this road.  We can't wait to see them all together!
