Hey everyone!
I haven't heard from Marc or Stephanie today, but, from what I can gather on Facebook, it seems he's doing really well! His spinal tap was negative, and it will be watched over the next 24 hours to make sure it stays negative. This is GREAT NEWS!! It means the infection was definitely caught in the early stages. In fact, even some of his blood cultures have come back good enough that they have mentioned a possible shortening of his stay. Praise God! It seems that he might only have to stay in the Special Care Nursery for 7-10 days instead of 10-14. Wahoo!! Wahoo!! Wahoo!! He'll be home with Daddy and Mommy before they know it.
Stephanie also seems to be doing better. She had a procedure done to heal her headaches from the epidural, and it has worked. Nursing is going well, and she seems in better spirits today.
Continue to pray for them in this situation. NICU is no fun, no matter what the reason for the stay. It really sucks to have your baby in the hospital when he/she should be in your belly or safe at home. Pray that they can adjust to this new alternate reality with as little stress as possible.
