Of Lessons!
On Monday, I learned that Clarian Arnett Hospital has a very awkward new ER doctor with pretty bad bedside manners. I learned this lesson by taking my son to the ER after he spit up blood a few times in a row over a three hour period. It turns out that he is basically fine, but he is most likely a bit lactose intolerant. Goodbye peanuts AND dairy... Grrr...
On Tuesday, I learned that security system companies will put a free security system in almost ANY home, as long as it's located on a busy street. My house currently has $1500 worth of security equipment installed, just because we live on 18th Street. It was free.
On Wednesday, I leared that, if we're going to spend $500/year on something, it's going to be cable...not security service. :) The security system will be coming out, and cable will be coming back! WAHOO!
On Thursday, I learned that laundry really *is* never-ending. I did two or three loads every single day, and I only *just* kept caught up with all our dirties.
On Friday, I learned that my neph-dog, Samson, owns a share of Sam's Club. Ruby thinks it's called Samson's Club. :) I also learned that she is now tall enough to lock the bathroom door...from the outside. :) She locked me in during my shower, and she couldn't get it unlocked again. I had to kick the door open. (No, I'm not kidding.)
On Saturday, I learned that I really am blessed with the most awesome family and friends for which a girl could ever ask. Kyle came over to help us move out our furniture and get the walls ready to be painted. We went to watch Alex play t-ball, and he did a GREAT job! (Two hits in two at-bats!!) PLUS, we celebrated Abigail's first birthday with several rounds of rousing volleyball, a fairly tackle-laden game of "touch" football (during which Mike made a really good catch!), some excellent birthday cake, and Ruby's first swim of the season. All in all, it was a day spent with people we love more than we can describe, and I wouldn't have it ANY other way!
Today, I learned that I really don't miss the internet all that much. Here it is, past midnight, and I'm just finding a chance to sit down and blog.
We've got a HUGE week ahead of us. New paint (interior and exterior), new carpet, and new furniture! :) I cannot wait to post pictures! The kids and I are in Indianapolis to visit with Pop, Gigi, and Aunt Megan for a couple of days. Nana and I are going to be busy re-upholstering some of the furniture (hopefully...)
We're also expecting a new Baby Goodwin any day now! (Not ours!) Mike's brother, Marc, and his wife, Stephanie, are due in just two short weeks with their first baby. For the record, I think it's a boy. I've thought it all along...but I'm really bad at guessing gender. Here are my official guesses:
Baby Boy (Name Caleb Ryan? It's a secret from everyone, so this is just my guess!)
Born June 19th
4:52 p.m.
7 lbs., 9 oz. 20 1/2 inches
Full head of dark hair, small hands and small feet, rounded nose (but not button), full lips
I also think he'll end up with an "innie" belly button. :)
How's that for descriptive? :) These are all just fun guesses! I can't wait to meet this little one! Come on out, Baby Goodwin! Ruby is excited to meet her "cousin dat yives in Stephanie's beyee." We love you already and know that God has great big plans for you, sweet one. Hugs and Kisses from Uncle Mike, Aunt Lindsay, Ruby and Burke.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL week! Leave me some comments and let me know what's going on in your lives.
