Don't Got Much

I'm fairly empty of personal revelations, witty thoughts, or amusing stories.  Therefore, I'm going to direct you to a different source of information.  If you follow this link, it will take you to Cornerstone Church's Media Player.  This is where you can download or listen to the mp3's of their weekly teachings.  Their pastor, Francis Chan, is the author of Crazy Love, a hugely popular Christian book.  When I saw a sermon titled "The Most Important Lesson I Could Ever Teach", I couldn't resist.  A best-selling Christian author with a huge audience and dedicated church membership says this is the single most important lesson he could pass along.  Why in the world would I pass that up?

I'm so glad I didn't.

Follow the link, listen to the message entitled "The Most Important Lesson I Could Ever Teach."  It is chock-full of poignant truth and an essential reminder of what the Christian life is really about.  Honestly?  It will probably be somewhat life-altering for many of you.  It was for me.  I had simply gotten side-tracked, and this jerked me right back in line.

Some heartrending thoughts (not quoted verbatim)?

(while speaking about our efforts to put off death)  "I understand why some people are afraid of going to hell.  What I don't understand is that it seems like many people don't want to go to Heaven, either."

"When we're gone from this place, our greatest desire should be that the people we love know how to independently be dependent on God."

"Shouldn't the Word of God be enough?  Some of you will only listen to the Word if it is spoken by the right person, at the right time, for the right amount of time...and I feel like I have to give you a reason to do what the Bible says."

"I couldn't live without time alone with God, because it's the only place where I can't lie."

Anyway...I'll be listening to it again.  And I truly encourage you to listen to it, as well.
