Life Without Facebook

It's a little different.  Even just 18 hours later...

First, there are all the people coming up to me saying, "So you're off Facebook, huh?"  Or the people e-mailing me to say, "Please let me know when you update the blog!"  Or the family members riding my behind about answering my cell phone.  :)  It's amazing how many people read those little updates.  Very few people comment on them or "Like" them, but there are *lots* of people reading them!  :)

No less than half a dozen times today, I've thought, "Oh!  I should put that on Facebook!"

For instance, at lunch today, Ruby made the comment that she had "many, many children but [she wasn't] married yet."

"Oh really?" was my reply.

"Yeah.  Because you and Daddy got married when me and Burke were still up in Heaven, and we were really sad about that.  We just cried and cried and cried because we wanted to be there with you.  So I decided to get my family first and then get married, so we can all be at the wedding togedder."  (together)

Seriously...that's Status Update worthy, right?

Or how about this?

For the past couple of weeks, I have been behind on nearly everything in my life.  Somethings I was just a little behind on...like buying groceries the day after we ran out of milk.  Other things, I was moderately behind on...like dishes and laundry.  And still other things?  I was majorly behind on...like finally getting the kids' dressers.

Now, just 27 hours after giving Facebook the boot?  I'm nearly caught up on everything.  No joke.  I've got two loads of laundry waiting in line to be finished.  I've got our dishes from this morning in the sink.  But seriously...I've made some *major* progress on BIG projects.

I miss some friends already.  I wonder how my friend, Ashley, is doing.  She gave birth to her second little boy yesterday, and the only way I have a connection with her is on Facebook.  I hope the delivery was smooth, and I hope she's enjoying every moment with her new little guy.

I wonder what all of my MOPS friends are saying on the MOPS page today, because we had a great meeting this morning.

I wonder what in the heck Sophie is singing today and trying to figure out how she can be singing the entire ABCs and songs from the Sound of Music when Burke is just finally saying "Mama."  :)  Mostly, I just mourn the fact that I won't be seeing any of her cute videos for a bit.

Oh, by the way, Burke is finally saying Mama.  :)  When he's in timeout or he can't reach a toy, he calls out for my help.  Music. to. my. ears.  Seriously!  :)

Anyway...so far, life is much more productive without Facebook.  We'll see how long it lasts, before I allow myself to get distracted by something else...
