Today I (Mike) found out what course I’ll be TA’ing for the fall semester. It’s CHM 125, which is the general chemistry class that all freshman chem majors take. I took it in 2001, and it’s still the same professor (Dr. John Nash). I really enjoyed the course and the professor a lot when I took it, so I hope that TA’ing will be just as enjoyable.
I also had a talk with Dr. Cooks today. I showed him my recent work and he seemed impressed. We also talked about the possibility of me working in his research group for my Ph.D work. He seemed to hint that I’m at an advantage compared to other first year grad students who want in his group, but I can’t be lax and expect to get in automatically.
He said that I need to have more interaction with other group members so that they get to know me and my interests. I think I’ll heed his advice since I REALLY want to be in his group ( : That’s all for now. Lindsay has a big shin-dig for her work tomorrow that she’s in charge of organizing and planning. So, she’s been cooking, drawing, coloring, preparing, etc. all evening. What a great wife and employee! I love her!
