the great escape

This is how Peyton’s cage was situated when we left him in there this morning. The cage was sitting right side up with both doors locked.

This is how Peyton’s cage was situated when we came home this evening.

He had turned the cage on it’s end, so that he could squeeze through the larger holes, which are situated on the bottom side of the cage. He did not turn the cage on it’s side, because that would have made the bottom holes too short and plenty wide. He turned it specifically on it’s end, so that the bottom holes were wide enough AND tall enough.

Grandpa Burke claims that Peyton is stupid, but Mommy is convinced that only a very smart and determined young doggy could manuever this trick. When Mommy and Daddy got home, Peyton was sitting on the landing of the stairs waiting on them. Nothing was messed up in the house, and there were no potty accidents, either. (That’s why Mommy and Daddy are pretty sure that Peyton wasn’t out for long…hee hee hee…)

On to other subjects:

Today was pretty busy. I (Lindsay) had a full day at work, and this new position really entails quite a bit more work than I thought. I’m in charge of all the scheduling and training for our bank’s conversion. I’ll be working anywhere from 5-10 hours of overtime each week. I know God will be good and grant me rest!

Church is going well. We let Pastor Randy know that we’d like to join, and he’s going to do a new member’s class when he gets back from Texas. We’re taking part in their leadership study, and we’ve really enjoyed it so far. It’s so good to be getting settled into a church home again. Tomorrow, we’ll be leaving work early to attend Garrett and Chelsee’s wedding near Chicago. It should be very fun!

I think that’s about all for now. Love to all!
