thankful for salvation
I have grown up in church my entire life, continually being exposed to the message of Jesus Christ and how he died to save us from our sins. When you’ve heard the message your entire life, it’s easy to let it become a little too familiar…so much so that you become ungrateful for the sacrifice that Christ made. May I always be thankful for the gift of salvation that comes through belief in Christ. May I also live my life in a manner that directs people towards him, so that they can also be thankful.
I saved this post for last in the “thankful for” series, because it is by far the most important. When you really consider the eternal versus the worldly things of this life, there is no comparison. The words of an old hymn sums it up pretty well:
Turn your eyes upon Jesus.
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of Earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.
