Griffin Interview
Today I interviewed with Griffin Analytical. It was from 8:45am to 2:00pm. I met with lots of different people, including the CEO, scientists, engineers, HR, etc. Overall, I thought that it went very well. Having never been to their campus, I was pretty impressed with their setup. It definitely has less of a small startup company feel than Prosolia. In fact, they have something like 45 employees.
The work would really line up with my interests very well, and I am excited about the possibility of working there. The one possible downside is that they require salaried employees (which I would be) to work 50 hours a week plus "occassional" weekends. So, if I wanted to leave at 5:00pm each day, I would have to arrive at 6:00am (with a one hour lunch). That would be a little rough. However, I think that I could do it for a job that I loved.
We'll see how it goes. I still don't have an official offer from either Griffin or Prosolia, but from the sound of things, I think that both will probably offer me a job of some type. Then it will come down to personal decisions that have to be made by me and Lindsay. I will try to keep this blog updated as we go. Thanks for your prayers.
