Homemade Fudgy Brownies

2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1/2 c. cocoa powder
1 t. vanilla
3 eggs + 1 egg yolk
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
Melt the butter in a sauce pan over medium heat. Once it is thoroughly melted, turn off the heat and mix in the remainder of ingredients in the order listed.
Grease a 9x13 pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. (Due to varying ovens, start checking your brownies at 20 minutes, but DO NOT open the oven before 20 min.)
