Homemade Fudgy Brownies
1 c. all-purpose flour
3 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/2 c. cocoa powder
1 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1 c. butter, melted
1 t. vanilla
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Combine the dry ingredients thoroughly. (Make sure you don't mix them quickly, or else you'll have white powedered sugar everywhere!) Add the melted butter to the dry ingredients and mix. Once the mixture is evenly crumbly, add the eggs and vanilla. Mix until the batter is creamy. It will be a thick batter.
Grease a 9x13 pan. Pour the batter into the center of the pan and spread the batter out, leaving a 1/2 inch of empty space between the batter and the edge of the pan. Important Note: Make sure the batter is spread evenly...perhaps even with a little extra batter on the edges (so it can spread out and still be even.) I know it sounds like a pain, but, believe me, it will be worth it! Immediately put the pan of brownies in the oven.
Bake at 350 degrees for 23 minutes. (Due to varying ovens, start checking your brownies at 20 minutes, but DO NOT open the oven before 20 min.) Brownies are done when a toothpick comes out nearly clean. ;)
