Losers - Sausage Gravy

  • 1/2 lb. mild sausage
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 3 or 4 cups skim milk

Brown and cook sausage in skillet.  When sausage is fully cooked, sprinkle flour over the sausage and fat and stir it around until it makes a lumpy paste.  (light golden brown in color)  Slowly add milk, whisking the misture fervently to prevent lumps (except the sausage...that will obviously be lumpy.)  Use whatever amount of milk gives you the consistency you like.  The longer you cook the gravy, the thicker it will become.

This recipe should make 8 servings.  Each serving is about 200 calories.  Serve over warm biscuits!  You can add a fried egg and fresh fruit for a whole meal.
